Drive to Kalambaka (4 hours) Depart from Athens early in the morning. As we drive, watch the landscape change from urban to the lush valleys and mountains of central Greece. This route offers glimpses of rural life, ancient ruins, and changing terrains.
Short Break (15 minutes) Halfway through the drive, we’ll take a 15-minute break at a rest area where you can stretch your legs, grab a coffee or snack, and enjoy a quick breath of fresh air.
Continue Drive (2 hours) As we resume our journey, the road will lead us closer to the imposing rocks of Meteora. The vistas here start becoming more dramatic, preluding the awe-inspiring sights of Kalambaka’s outskirts.
Lunch in Kalambaka Upon arrival in Kalambaka, we’ll head to a local tavern for lunch. Here, you’ll enjoy a meal prepared with fresh, local ingredients, offering a taste of authentic Greek cuisine amidst the backdrop of Meteora’s towering rock formations.
Short Drive to Meteora (10 minutes)
After lunch, a brief drive takes us to the heart of Meteora. This UNESCO World Heritage site is not only a natural wonder but also a spiritual haven that has attracted monks for centuries.

Return Drive to Athens (4.5 hours)
As we leave Meteora behind, relax and reflect on the day’s spiritual and visual experiences during the smooth drive back to Athens. The scenic route back will allow you to unwind as the sun sets over the Greek countryside.
The tour ends 14-15 hours after starting.
Conclude your day with a scenic drive back to Athens, dropping you off at your accommodation with memories of a delightful escape.
Additionally, there is a dress code for visitors entering the monasteries. Women are required to wear skirts that extend below the knee and ensure their shoulders are covered, while men should wear long pants and ensure their shoulders are covered. Some monasteries provide skirts and shawls at the entrance if needed
The entrance fee for each of the five active monasteries in Meteora is €3 per person. Children under 12 years old can enter for free.
